The First Step
Our first session will be an initial assessment; during which we will explore what you hope to receive from counselling. Giving you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and allowing us the opportunity to decide if we both feel that we could successfully work together.
It is normal to feel nervous before your first session, especially if you have never tried counselling before. Some people are anxious that they may not feel able to talk, or share their innermost concerns with someone that have never previously met. The majority of people that I see, however, are surprised by how at ease they are feel by the end of the first appointment. Future sessions are then usually on a weekly basis and last fifty minutes with a regular six weekly review, for us to discuss your progress .The total number of sessions required will depend on your individual needs and aims.

If you are depressed, you are living in the past.
If you are anxious, you are living in the future.
If you are at peace, you are living in the present.
